About Golf For Life NFP
Since 1988
Golf for Life NFP (GFL) formerly known as Golf for Christ League was founded in 1988 with the purpose of promoting fellowship among members and friends of DuPage AME Church.
The league was open to men, women, and children. A program was enacted in 1999 to assist members of DuPage AME Boy Scout Troop to get their Golf Merit Badge. The success led to establishing the Golf for Christ League which was designed to introduce the game of golf to aspiring youth of the church and surrounding communities.
Partnerships was formed with the United States Golf Association, Hook-A-Kid-On -Golf, Kid Golf Foundation and the Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation.
Since 2004 we have been providing clinics during the summer months while having golf training sessions on Saturdays at Zigfield Troy Golf Course, in Woodridge, IL and the Mistwood Golf Dome (formerly, Ditka’s Sports Dome) in Bolingbrook, IL.
The program utilizes golf as a platform to teach life value skills. Operating on a year-round basis offers many coaching and mentoring opportunities. The program has significantly impacted the lives of over 1000 youth. It has opened the doors of opportunity for some to make their high school golf teams, to become caddies, and earn scholarships.
The board elected to expand the Youth Golf Development Program to reach a greater number of youths, as we increase the number of significant sponsors and supporters.

“To serve as a mentor and coaching resource to develop youth and aspiring golfers thru clinics, training and workshops, utilizing golf as a platform for achieving sustainable Life Values that will enhance their success through high school, college and life.”
